Dog-Friendly Summer in Ladera Ranch

Happy summer! With the long days and the warm weather, summertime is a great season to spend some quality time with your furry friends and try new things in the community. There are plenty of community activities happening in Ladera Ranch this summer such as concerts in the park, food fairs, classes, and plenty of other great programming!

While there are lots of great options for you to enjoy with your human family, many of these events are not pet friendly for a variety of reasons. Of course, you’ll be able to attend some of these events and participate in some activities without your pets, but it is always nice to be able to bring your dog with you! Orange County has a ton of pet-friendly events year round, from beach days to dog park parties. If you’re looking for a dog-friendly event in our own neighborhood of Ladera Ranch this summer, you’re in luck! There are a couple of exciting events this summer, and we’re excited to tell our patients about them!

Wagsdale Dog Park

Ladera Ranch has it’s very own dog park called Wagsdale Dog Park! The park features an acre of grassy play area, along with dog-friendly water fountains, small dog and big dog areas, and shady places to sit down and escape the sun. The park does require a card for entry. You can check out the website for more information.

Paws in the Park

On June 1st, Wagsdale Park will host their annual Paws in the Park event! This amazing community event will feature pet vendors, booths from local rescues, delicious pastries, beverages, and crafts and activities for you and all of your family members to enjoy. You must be a park member to enter the event, so be sure to sign up soon! Visitors will also have the chance to vote in the final round of the most photogenic pet contest!

If you’re willing to drive a little bit further outside of Ladera Ranch to other parts of Orange County, there are even more options available to you and your pets! Spend your summer exploring all of the different dog-friendly beaches, restaurants, and parks that Orange County has to offer. While you’re out exploring, remember to exercise safety precautions for your pet’s health in the heat. Make sure they’re drinking water throughout the day, and check the pavement to make sure it isn’t too hot for their paws before letting them walk on it. Enjoy your summer!
