Upper Newport Bay

There are a ton of great places to walk your dog in Orange County. One of our patients’ favorite places to go on walks is Upper Newport Bay. There are lots of trails available for you and your dog to stroll along and explore. There is even free parking!

Dog Agility

Can your dog do tricks? Laurie Zurborg, local dog agility trainer and owner of Wags & Wiggles, offers private lessons as well as group courses at Dog Agility Tustin and Rancho Santa Margarita locations. She trains multiple breeds and various skill levels! Once your dog is ready to compete, Zurborg recommends that they join O.C.’s major agility club, DASH, for practices and competition opportunities!

Pacific Hideaway

Looking for a spot to enjoy a special dinner with your dog by your side? Pacific Hideaway, the beautiful restaurant at the Kimpton Shorebreak Hotel offers a dog menu consisting of generous portions of your dog’s choice of beef and potato, rockfish and yam, or chicken and rice. Your pup will enjoy the fancy treat! The dog meals are usually $7 each, but on “Sit, Stay Sundays” your dog can eat free with the purchase of $15 worth of human food! The restaurant is located on the  Pacific Coast Highway, so you can enjoy the beautiful ocean views and light ocean breeze while you relax and treat yourself and your dog.

Balboa Water Sports

This one is for the most adventurous dogs out there! Balboa Water Sports offers the opportunity for humans to enjoy Newport Harbor on stand-up paddleboards. Once you’ve got the hang of it, Balboa Water Sports invites experienced paddlers to bring their dogs along! Just make sure your dog is comfortable around water first. Be sure to bring your own canine life jacket, too!

San Juan Capistrano Trails

Going hiking at a trail in San Juan Capistrano is great way for you and your dog to get some exercise and bond! Just make sure you’re staying out of the way of equestrians in San Juan Capistrano who are riding or training their horses! Dogs can get a little jittery or overexcited around horses,

We hope that you and your dog get to enjoy some of these amazing and special experiences this summer. If you take your dog to any of these cool spots, let us know what you think about it!
